"Researchers Go Underground To Reveal 850 New Species In Australian Outback." University of Adelaide. September 2009. ScienceDaily
A group of 18 researchers found 850 new species of bugs. Also know as invertebrates. this means they have no backbone. They found these bugs in underground water, caves, and micro caves. All of these are in Australia. Professor Austin said " What we've found is that we don't have to go searching to the depths of the ocean to discover new species of invertebrate animals-you just have to look in your own "Back yard." The believe there are many more species they have not discovered yet but hope to find them soon. This is what they hope to achieve on their research in Australia.
