A study observed that bonobods consistantly choose to actively share their food with others. In the study the bonobods had the choice to eat the food by themselves or use the key to give another bonobod access to it. The independent variable was which adjacent room was empty and which had food or a bonobod in it. The dependent variable was which room the bonobod choose to open with the key. The conclusion reached was that the monkey prefered to voluntarily open the recipients door to allow them acces to highly desireable food the test subjects could of easily eaten on there own. This was a good experiement becuase the test subject could see which room was empty and which had food. The experiment could of been improved by having to monkeys in a closed enviorment and give one a banana and see if the two share. A follow up experiment to this study would be to see if the bonobons would share with other animals. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/02/100212125708.htm
